Moussa Foundation South Lebanon

What we do

Building skills and opportunity in South Lebanon

Our work spans digital skills, enterprise, education, healthcare and support for families. All of it has the same purpose: helping communities in the South remain places where people can build a good life without having to leave.

Featured initiative

NUMŪ: digital and AI skills for South Lebanon

Young people in Lebanon need skills that match the work available today, and in the South many have had little access to that kind of training. NUMŪ is a national program of Lebanon's Ministry of State for Technology and Artificial Intelligence that teaches digital and AI skills to students and early-career professionals.

At the Minister's invitation, we have partnered with the Ministry to support NUMŪ. The program has committed to bringing its training to communities across South Lebanon, including Marjayoun and the surrounding villages, and we serve as its link to those communities and to supporters in the United States.

  • AI Academy Practical use of AI at work
  • Coding Skills for those who want to build
  • Digital literacy Foundations for those starting out

Enterprises we helped start

Some of our most lasting work has been helping new businesses take root. Both companies below were seeded by the Moussa Foundation in Deir Mimas, the small village our family comes from. Both are doing well, and both now reach customers far beyond South Lebanon.

Terra Deir Mimas

Local farmers grew olives of real quality but had no dependable buyer and no fair, predictable price. We seeded Terra Deir Mimas to buy their oil directly each season and carry it to new markets.

The oil comes from around 150,000 old olive trees, hand-picked and cold-pressed within hours, in three expressions: Reserve, Harvest and Golden. In 2026 it won a Gold Award at the Dubai Olive Oil Competition.

Bim Technologists

Young people were leaving the South because the work was elsewhere. We seeded Bim Technologists to train them in Building Information Modeling and employ them close to home.

Today the firm delivers 3D modelling, coordination and quantity services to the ISO 19650 standard for clients across the Middle East, the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States, from its base in Marjayoun.
